DIY | Easter Basket

Now one of the things that always makes me feel good, is little projects. When I set my mind on doing something, and something creative, I dive right into my own little World. It used to just be writing, but over the years I’ve fell in love with painting, baking, and recently, “Do It Yourself” projects.

it’s so cute!

Today is Easter!! And no matter if you celebrate it or not, you have to admit this is a cute little holiday. The sun is out, you see little kiddies in adorable pastel colors, it’s picnic season, and little bunnies and baby chicks are everywhereeee (I can literally go on and on). I work at a place that is open year round. And it’s a family oriented environment. I decided that I wanted to play the Easter Bunny this year.

Now, I realize most parents don’t want their kids eating anything from a random egg found in a hidden place, so I decided to make these specifically for my co-workers. Which they seemed to really enjoy! So check it out.

What I used:

(All purchased at Target for under $25)

  • Easter Egg 48 Count

  • Pink Crinkle Shredded Paper

  • Yellow Woven Basket

  • Starburst Jelly Beans

  • Butterfinger Cup Chocolate Egg

  • Scissors

  • Scratch Paper

  • Pens (What ever color of your choosing)

You want to make your tiny notes first. I wanted something simple and something that would put a smile on everyone’s face. So I googled Easter Puns. A few of the ones I chose were, “There is no bunny like you,” “Let Hoppy thoughts multiply like rabbits,” and “You’re the best Jelly Bean to pick.” Once I picked the ones I liked, I grabbed some sheets of paper and cut them down into little rectangular slips. Wrote a note on each one and crinkled the note up to mimic the Pink Crinkle Shredded Paper.

“You are Egg-Cellent!”

I then opened the rest of my supplies. Starting with the Plastic Easter Eggs. I grab one, grab 3 strands of the Pink Crinkle Shredded Paper and stuff them inside the Egg. Grab a piece of candy and one special note, then close the egg up tight. Do that, a couple more times, and don’t give up, the stuffing is tedious. But once you’re done, you’ll have a beautiful basket that you can’t wait to show off! Once you’re all done, place all the eggs in your Woven Basket and get to hoppin’ Little Miss Bunny!
